Your Next Step

Start with one real posting. Save what it says, what you have done, and the question you still need to answer.

Step One: Save A Real Role

Open Saved Jobs in your workspace and choose Add A Job. Enter the role title and company. The location, original posting URL and job description help you recognize the exact opportunity later. Copy the description from the posting you actually reviewed, rather than relying on a job title alone.

You add roles manually. Saved Jobs is your own record of opportunities, not a promise that every opening is present or still accepting applications. Reopen the original posting before you act on it.

Step Two: Record Your Actual Stage

Choose Saved, Preparing or Applied to reflect what you have personally done. When you move from research to preparation, update the same record instead of creating a new copy. Keep the posting URL so the role, source and your next action travel together.

The stage is a planning note. Changing it does not submit an application or contact an employer. If you have not sent an application yourself, do not mark the role Applied.

Step Three: Check Employer Evidence Separately

The workspace has a separate Employer Evidence view. Check the source, date and coverage of any available record before relating it to the role you saved. The U.S. Department of Labor says its disclosure data may contain incomplete fields and does not include every case. A historical employer record cannot answer whether this particular opening will support your situation.

If the evidence is unavailable or the posting leaves an important requirement unanswered, keep the question open. Ask the employer or an appropriate adviser about the exact role and your own circumstances. Do not turn a missing result into a negative conclusion.

Step Four: Carry The Role Forward

Open your saved job and choose Create A Resume when you are ready to tailor a document. The saved job description is passed to the builder as context. Check the copied text against the current posting, then use only experience you can support.

For a fictional example, imagine saving a marketing internship on Monday, preparing a resume on Tuesday and applying on Wednesday. The record changes stages only as those actions happen. It never applies for the student.
